This can include active playtime, a good walk, or participating in dog sports like fly-ball, agility, obedience, and rally.

Grooming

Aussiedoodles, a cross between Australian Shepherds and Poodles, require regular grooming to keep their coats healthy and tangle-free. Here are some tips for grooming an Aussiedoodle:

  • Brushing Brush daily or weekly, depending on your dog's coat type, to remove tangles, mats, and loose hair. Use a slicker brush with long pins to penetrate the fur to the skin, or a comb for more detailed work. For severe mats, you can use a demat brush.

  • Bathing Bathe your Aussiedoodle every month or two, but not too often, as it can strip their coat of natural oils. When bathing, start with the face and ears, then work your way down the back, chest, tummy, legs, feet, private area, and finally the bottom. Rinse the washcloth periodically to keep it clean.

  • Trimming Trim your dog's fur around their eyes and tail. You can use curved shears to outline the desired shape of the tail, making sure to cut evenly and blend the base of the tail to the body.

  • Other grooming Every 12 weeks, you should also groom your dog's nails, eyebrows, and ears.

Conclusion

Aussiedoodles are generally friendly and loving dogs that, when well socialized, get along with other pets and children. Each Aussiedoodle's energy level can vary. Those that take after their Australian Shepherd side may need more activity than those who lean toward the Poodle parent.
